Are you ready for Cyber attack?

February 2016

Recently we have seen a hige rise in the number of targeted phishing emails to steal money from businesses. Your accounts person / book-keeper will receive a very believable email apparently from the owner or director of the company asking them to prepare a same day transfer of funds. This is followed up by a series of emails with instructions to pay money. These are targeted attacks with knowledge of names, email addresses and roles in the company. Put procedures in place to confirm by phone or direct contact before paying any new unknown payee, especially if the amount is significant. Make sure everyone in your company is aware of the problem. Call us for advice or further details.
